it has dawned on me that i have not become the christian that i thought i would when leaving the jw religion.. i don't deny the power of faith, i retain faith in something beyond just the here and now, or maybe i retain credulous belief that way?

i have discovered that my religion was bad - then i discovered that the 'holy writ' upon which it is founded is pretty leaky also.

then i discovered that most "holy writings" are just as porous.

my sister's girls, 9 and 12 were in colorado for 3 weeks with their mom in december, we had the pleasure of celebrating christmas all together.

these are great girls, as most kids are!, the 12 year old worried about her pets while she was away.. when she returned, they were gone.

she's crushed, devastated, deeply depressed.

Bikerchic, thanx for your concern, but, no sh*t. What shall I tell the authorities, that the evil daddy got rid of her pets? And then they'll do what? I've called the police when my sister has told me that he's abused her and the girls, been there, done that, got the t shirt. By the time the police arrive, not a terribly long wait mind you, he has threatened them into denying it, and no amount of questioning has revealed what has really happened.

My sister lived under such control and fear for 27 years, and when divorced, having never worked in her life as a faithful jw wife, she was penniless and homeless, save for a kind man who became her bf and they've made a home together. The parents share custody and are in different states. He wants them because he can hurt and control Her, but he has nothing but contempt for the girls, he tells them he hates them. But until someone can nail the MFr with eyewitness testimony of an actual crime, what would you do once you got on a plane and went there? And of course, our jw family living in AZ are useless, they want to mind their business and say how nice it is that he's at the meetings.

F*ck the jws.

Having a guilty conscience and maybe I should go back to JW

i have read the new wt and am thinking of going back.

i believe a lot of the teachings and i see what is going on .

i just feel a lot of confusion right now.

If you were to ask yourself one question, please let it be this:

Which do you believe is true, that the Bible is the true word of God given to all mankind, or that the Governing Body's words are God's words of truth for all mankind? There is no 'both'.

If you tend toward the first part of that question being true and not the second, there is no way you could return to jws.

When she returned, they were gone. She's crushed, devastated, deeply depressed. Their evil JW father somehow 'disposed' of her cat and her horse, likely sold the horse, while she was gone. No explanation.

Can you believe the cruelty???!

(she did spill to us that she has a few times heard her dad and his 'blondie' girlfriend giggling and moaning on the couch late at night, and has seen them laying on one another on the couch in the dark, the gf's in their congregation)

this site is awesome, but i don't know how many current or former dubs even know about it.

i found a home here pretty quick, and have really not bothered to look at other sites....are we #1. the search feature is great now, and i appreciate the effort put into it.

is there a way or need to donate?
